Mr. John Joseph Metcalf was appointed Chairman of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Limited on November 23rd, 2023.

He is also the Head of Insurance at AKFED since 2006. In his role at AKFED, he oversees the company's insurance operations, which included managing investments in 10 insurance entities spanning 7 countries across Africa, Pakistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Mr. John Joseph Metcalf holds the prestigious credentials of Chartered Insurer and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK and BA (Hons) Banking, Insurance & Finance from Sheffield Hallam University.

Dr Bayer is the Group Chief Finance Officer at SanlamAllianz and has been a member of the Board of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Limited since March 30th, 2022. Following his tenure as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company Inc. in Munich, Dr Bayer transitioned to the financial services sector in 2011, when he joined Allianz SE. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics.

Adja Samb is the Chief Operating Officer GI at SanlamAllianz and was appointed to the Board of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Limited on 23rd November 2023. Previously, she served as the Chief Executive Officer at Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Limited for three years. She holds an MBA in International Management, a Master’s Degree in Economic and Social Administration, and a Postgraduate Degree in Quantitative Methods and Corporate Modelling.

Jean is the Honorary President of the French foreign trade advisors for East Africa. He was appointed to the Board of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Limited on 4th May 2021. Additionally, Jean serves as an elected Board Member at the French Chamber of Commerce in Nairobi. With over 37 years of professional experience in Kenya, Jean has worked as the Country Director for Thales East Africa and held various managerial positions in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, and East Africa. Jean is a holder of the French Order of Merit Award from the President of France.

Linus Gitahi is the current Chairman of the Board for Tropikal Brands (Afrika) Limited, Diamond Trust Bank Limited, Oxygene Marketing Communications Limited, and Zenufa Pharmaceuticals in Tanzania. He was appointed to the Board of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Limited on 4th May 2021, he also serves as a Board Member at Simba Corp and Kenya Association of Manufactures. Linus is a Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIMO) and a holder of the Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS) from the Government of Kenya.

Phyllis is the Senior Advisor, Global Lead, Commerce and Industry at Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. She was appointed to Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K) Board on 25th August 2023. Phyllis holds a Ph.D. in Leadership from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a master’s in international Trade and Investment Law from the University of Nairobi, an MBA from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management from the College of Human Resource Management, a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi.

Ruth is the Chief Executive Officer at Sanlam General Insurance (U) Limited. She was appointed to the Board of Jubilee Allianz General Insurance (K0 Limited on 22nd March 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Management from Makerere University and has completed a Leadership Development Program at Stellenbosch University. Additionally, she is a member of The Chartered Insurance Institute (UK).
